The Male Lead Turned Dark After the Imperial Tutor Faked His Death

Thanks to his impressive ability to stay up all night, Ji Wangchen landed a job at the transmigration bureau that was truly 24/7:

Sleep at midnight, wake at midnight, work seven days a week without a break.

Ji Wangchen: This is some seriously dark humor...

So, in order to finally get a good night's sleep, Ji Wangchen diligently supported the young emperor, taking on more and more secret identities, all while waiting to finish the job and find somewhere to sleep in peace.

But when he woke up from a nap, Ji Wangchen discovered that he was back in the coffin he'd escaped from before faking his death.

The once-obedient young emperor stared at him with bloodshot eyes and a sinister expression, his hand hidden in his sleeve trembling slightly.

Ji Wangchen lay flat in the coffin, feeling guilty. Can someone please close the lid for me? Thanks!

Feng Yujing lost his mother as a child and was surrounded by wolves. The first lesson life taught him was never to trust anyone.

Until he met Ji Wangchen.

The handsome young man cleaved through the darkness and strode toward him without hesitation. He cherished and protected Feng Yujing, guiding him toward reason and teaching him how to be a good person.

But Ji Wangchen's final lesson turned out to be so devastating...

The heavy red gates slowly opened, revealing a ground drenched in sticky blood.

Ji Wangchen, known to the world as a treacherous chancellor, lay in a pool of blood, his eyes half-open and utterly lifeless.

Years of obsession crumbled in an instant. The young emperor fell to his knees, unable to rise, as bloody tears fell and soaked his robes.

After two lifetimes as an overworked office drone, Ji Wangchen finally got to sleep until he woke naturally.

He could choose when to get up, but the wolf cub got to decide when he went to bed.

The night was deep, and red candles flickered.

The emperor's tutor, eyes red and voice choked with sobs, wanted to go to sleep. The wolf cub behind him kissed the side of his neck. "Brother, haven't you had enough sleep yet?"
