In the midst of an evolutionary crisis, experimental subjects are nothing unusual.

Tan Qianmi was one of them. She stared indifferently at the barren, colorless world.

When her second mutation began, she took the chance to escape the lab, without any hope of making it out alive.

This shabby, chaotic world held no appeal for her.

On a chaotic, rainy night, someone suddenly appeared in white, held an umbrella over her, and drove off her pursuers with little effort.

Tan Qianmi guessed that the woman knew her, though she didn't know the woman.

Ever since the second mutation began, the world had become more and more unbearable to look at. She still wanted to find release.

The woman stopped her, smiling as she called her Qianmi.

She was composed, gentle, and courteous, yet left no room for argument as she insisted on taking her away.

Tan Qianmi looked at the woman before her and agreed without a care.

She still thought everyone was boring.

But this time, she was unusually mistaken.

As the black-and-white lines grew ever more chaotic, a vivid flower appeared on the canvas.

The woman came into her life uninvited, bringing with her the vibrant life that Tan Qianmi had buried in the past.

From then on, color brightened the monotonous ink wash, and dew settled on the withered grass.

Main plot: An escaped experimental subject and her old lover are forced to seek the truth behind the mutations together.
