Tempting Him

(New book now underway) #She flirts with him, then gives up halfway; he goes mad with love and turns dark# “Lu Jin is like a filthy, impossible-to-shake dog who does nothing but go crazy.” That was the sentence Ci Yiyang said most often. Not long after her mother’s funeral, her father brought home a woman and a handsome, aloof young man, then told her, “This is Lu Jin, your younger brother from now on.” Ci Yiyang didn’t greet him. She just glared at Lu Jin with a cold, furious expression. But Lu Jin smiled at her, his cool, wicked voice tinged with a lingering tenderness. “I’m Lu Jin, Sis. Your… younger brother from now on.” Only later did she understand what he meant by “from now on.” - The two people trying to force their way into her family were the ones Ci Yiyang hated most. She couldn’t stand another woman taking over everything that had belonged to her mother. So she decided to seduce Lu Jin. She deliberately put on his shirt, pretended to go to sleep in the wrong room, gave him the tiniest scraps of affection, lied through her teeth that she liked him, and summoned him and dismissed him whenever she pleased. Until one day, she discovered the secret hidden in Lu Jin’s room. Behind a door that had never been opened, the transparent glass cabinets were packed with things she had used in the past. Each item had a label. “Pearl hair clip she wore: So pretty, I love it. Like her eyes. If only I could lick them, but they’re pearls.” “The dress she wore: I like it, but she only wore it once. Such a shame, such a shame…” “The perfume she wore when she hugged me: I love it. If I had tentacles, I could wrap them around her tight, like the scent of perfume…” “Her…” Even things she had thrown away were displayed inside like precious treasures. Looking at all the labels covered in his abnormal, sick obsession with her, she turned in a panic to leave, only to find the door wouldn’t open. But the young man, just out of the shower, leaned against the doorframe with a smile. His cool voice carried the same tender affection as the day he first arrived. “Why run? Didn’t you say you liked me and missed me? I do too. Every time you come close, I like you so much I can’t stop my whole body from trembling.” - Lu Jin was a heaven-blessed prodigy, the untouchable flower atop a high mountain, envied by everyone. Only Ci Yiyang knew he was a dog who could never be fed enough. Every night, when they were alone, Lu Jin would hold her wrists and press his lovestruck face against her neck, calling her name over and over in a tender voice.
