At one year old, Kenji was abandoned at the entrance to the Morita Orphanage. The people there raised him as one of their own.
At seven, Kenji excelled in both conduct and academics, and his teacher covered his homework with little red flowers.
At fifteen, three girls confessed to Kenji at once. He told them to focus on their studies, then set an example by getting into a top high school.
At eighteen, Kenji was caught up in an anomaly alongside his strange deskmate, who was always holding a cat.
After he narrowly escaped death, he finally remembered his past: the explosion, the phone call, and the cherry blossom he'd left behind.
His deskmate handed him a manga.
Kenji, you've finally opened your eyes.
Your director at the orphanage, your elementary school teacher, your classmates and friends: they were all fake. None of them even knew you.
So, are you ready to keep sinking into a beautiful illusion, or to face the cruel truth?
--
As long as she didn't look and didn't listen, everything was beautiful.
Anyone who tried to make her look or listen was an enemy.
But was the person gently moving her hands away also an enemy?
Why were tears falling from his gentle, misty violet eyes?
Note:
1. As usual, everyone gets rescued from death (no matter how it's done, there will absolutely be a happy ending).
2. The main POV is Hagi's. I've given him a cute little sister as a love interest because I think it's hard for someone as gentle as Hagi not to find a partner.
3. Warning: this is not set in the Detective Conan world! It's mainly about Hagi's fantastical drift through another world.
A police officer who's warm and considerate on the outside but uneasy and disillusioned inside x a little mushroom who's cold and withdrawn on the outside but steadfast and soft-hearted inside. Let them make up for each other's shortcomings!
Theme: A radiant soul will shine wherever it goes.
