I was crowned emperor.
On my first day at work, I decided to abolish the evil practice of burying people alive with the dead.
But the ministers all wailed and protested, going on about ancestral laws, ethics, and our civilized traditions. They even called me unfilial!
Is our civilized tradition really built on the backs of consorts buried alive? What sanctimonious hypocrisy! How pitiful those consorts and servants are!
These hypocrites have endless arguments and their morals come and go as they please. One day, I'll wipe out their entire clans!
My heart turned cold. I lowered my eyes and wore a remorseful expression. "I never considered that. How unfilial of me!"
I hurried down the steps, took the hand of the minister who had been shouting the loudest, and said with heartfelt sincerity:
How about this? To make up for my mistake, I'll arrange for my father to take a few more concubines after his death, and send them underground to keep him company.
My dear minister, you still have a certain charm yourself!
To be honest, my father harbored feelings for you that he could never speak of. As his son, I can only make up for his unfulfilled wish after his death.
If reason won't work, then I'll use magic to defeat magic! Charge, scandalous gay fiction!
Huh? Why did he faint?

Before the new emperor's accession, he had humble origins and was known for knowing nothing about government affairs and doing nothing but writing.
The ministers: At least he doesn't follow his father and cultivate immortality.
After the new emperor's first day at work:
The ministers, knocked flat by scandalous gay history: ...He'd be better off cultivating immortality!
But after getting knocked flat over and over, they suddenly realized:
Huh? Why has our nation become glorious across the land and feared throughout the four seas again?

Later historians argued endlessly over whether Emperor Yin Lie was a tyrant or a benevolent ruler.
Throughout his life, he employed ruthless officials and made excessive use of the death penalty. When it came to corrupt officials, if he could wipe out nine generations of their family, he wouldn't settle for only three. Even in his later years, when he began to repent and tried to rein in his bloodlust, all he did was change the punishment from exterminating nine generations to making all nine generations work in the mines.
On the other hand, he cared for the common people, never wasting their money, and forbade even the imperial relatives from taking their farmland lightly. Anyone who did faced cruel punishment. Even when he campaigned against the Xiongnu in the north, he didn't squeeze food from the people. The officials under his rule had to sleep with one eye open, but the people lived in peace and prosperity, surrounded by song and dance.
The methods of a Yama, the heart of a sage.
A story about an idealist changed by power and struggling against himself.
A male ghost rated S1: a beautiful snake who seems gentle but is secretly twisted and crawling with darkness, and a corgi emperor who excels at going berserk. The emperor is the gong.
A spirited young general who keeps a strict distance between sovereign and subject, dreams of becoming a virtuous official remembered in the history books, and desperately refuses to be known as the emperor's favorite. The general is the shou.
1. The story is told in third person. Both the gong and shou are natives of this world. One-on-one, and both are each other's one and only.
2. Both leads are strong. By that, I mean they both have clear character arcs, individual storylines, and big moments that don't depend on the other lead being involved. The main focus is on the gong, with the storylines split somewhere between 60/40 and 70/30.
3. This is an unabashed emperor power fantasy. The corgi emperor has absolutely no morals. The people of the old era think differently from modern people.
4. The blurb makes it sound like this, but the story itself is a lightly comedic serious drama...
5. An important supporting character transmigrates.
6. I'll delete any extreme political comments I see. Comments using insulting names for either of the two leads will really upset me (hands together).
