Fleeting Light, Never to Fall

Cool and gentle * unconventional / one-night stand turns serious / mildly coercive

Blurb:

While abroad, Ying Qi meets a man with striking features and a handsome, captivating face. Everything about him hits her just right, even the tiny mole by his collarbone, which exudes an indescribable sensuality.

Mustering her courage, she approaches him. "Would you like to have a drink together?"

Late at night, he runs a finger over her lips, stained red by wine, and drawls lazily, "Had enough?"

In a foreign country where no one knows them, they do every kind of wild thing.

A passionate encounter that begins and ends on a whim. Back home, Ying Qi returns to her life. Apart from the occasional moment of distraction, forgetting each other in the crowd is the right choice.

Until Ying Qi follows her mother to Jingbei and moves into her stepfather's luxurious villa.

At the welcome dinner, her mother introduces her to her stepfather's son.

When he sees her, the man narrows his dark eyes, then smiles with a knowing look. "Long time no see."

As the new family tries to adjust, the stepsiblings with no blood relation are at each other's throats. Everyone thinks they're bitter rivals who can't stand one another.

Only Ying Qi knows that, late at night, Jing Yanci will force his way into her room and pin her against the door. "I look forward to learning from you. Is this method of instruction comfortable?"

Tired of her ambiguous relationship with Jing Yanci, Ying Qi suggests they get back on track and marry other people.

"From now on, we'll be siblings."

"Siblings?" Jing Yanci presses a hand to his brow and chuckles softly. "After we've slept together, we can't be siblings anymore, baby."

Like a fleeting glimmer, I am the one who cannot be forgotten.
