My Betrothed Is Not Human

When Yin Yu was a child, he saw an injured mermaid.

The mermaid had collapsed on the beach. His bare chest was covered in wounds, and the smell of blood mingled with the salty sea breeze, drifting into Yin Yu's nostrils.

Six-year-old Yin Yu saved him.

Before he turned eighteen, Yin Yu was always imagining a fairy-tale ending, where one day the mermaid would come to repay him.

But sadly, the mermaid never appeared again.

Later, the Yin Group ran into trouble.

For the sake of their interests, his family arranged a business marriage between him and Lu Tingyan, the eldest son of the Lu family.

Yin Yu had thought it would be a shackle trapping him, but Lu Tingyan was nothing like the rumors said.

He was gentle and refined, considerate and mature, and their business marriage soon blossomed into love after marriage.

Then one day, Yin Yu saw a news report about a mermaid.

The river had inexplicably begun to smell of the sea's briny tang, and someone had glimpsed a mermaid-like figure in the thick white fog.

Yin Yu thought back to his childhood.

Cuddled up in Lu Tingyan's arms, he smiled as he told him the story and shared the wish he'd made as a boy.

When he finished and looked up, he noticed that his husband's eyes seemed to have turned completely black. The sight startled him.

Yin Yu stared at his husband, still shaken.

At the same time, beneath the covers, something slimy and cold suddenly spread over his thigh, then gradually tightened around it and slithered along.

The unfamiliar sensation made Yin Yu hesitate before lifting the covers

At some point, a patch of the bedsheet had gotten wet, and a few grains of sand had strangely stuck to his calf.

Yin Yu froze for a moment, but then his husband wrapped his arms around him from behind.

Sharp teeth, clearly not human, touched Yin Yu's earlobe as Lu Tingyan asked gently, "Baby, what's wrong?"

The gong isn't just a mermaid. He's a hybrid, a super-ferocious one with fangs, tusks, and tentacles.
