Every so often, a protagonist is plunged into hell by the hardships and torment written into the plot before their life can turn around. System 007's job is to help its Host set the main storyline back on track and save protagonists on the brink of turning evil.
But when it drew an identity card for its Host, it got [Villain].
The Hosts: "???"
Seriously, sir, a Villain saving the protagonist?
Has the world outside gone completely mad?
*
World One: aloof young master from a fallen family × cannon-fodder Villain who covets his looks, top
System: "You're a huge pervert in the rich-kid circle. You've wanted him for years, and now that his family has gone bankrupt, you've lost all restraint. You drugged him and are about to force yourself on him..."
Host: "How far along are we?"
System: "You've already taken your pants off."
Host: "..."
With an hour left before the protagonist woke up, the Host faced the unconscious, handsome young man on the suite's king-sized bed and had a brainwave. He asked the hotel front desk to send up a workbook.
He tossed it in front of the protagonist and said coldly, "Five hundred thousand for one night. Tutor me with my homework."
I'm a respectable person.
I'm only after the knowledge in your head.
*
World Two: white rose Omega posing as an Alpha to get into military academy × cannon-fodder roommate Alpha, top
System: "You're jealous of his talent and excellence. You can't stand being outshone, so you keep tripping him up. Your relationship can be described as oil and water..."
Oil and water? Mortal enemies, right?
The Host gave an OK sign. "Got it."
When the Omega suffered a major setback and hid alone in the infirmary, the Host swung a punch, grabbed the Omega by the collar, and looked down at him. "I hate seeing you like this, giving up. Get up and fight back."
*
World Three: young sect leader lying low to avenge his family × beautiful immortal from the Joyful Union Sect, top
System: "You arrived early, before you had any conflicts with the protagonist. You just need to get close to him, comfort him, and persuade him not to let hatred cloud his judgment, to put down his blade and embrace the path of enlightenment..."
The System was brimming with confidence, certain this mission couldn't fail.
"Oh?"
The Host drawled, smiling faintly.
At his first meeting with the protagonist, he propped his head on one hand, eyes smiling, like a venomous snake flicking its tongue. "Want revenge? I can help you."
Hundreds of lives. A blood feud. Forget putting down the blade.
Years later, retired 007 earnestly told the newly hired Systems, "Hosts are disposable, so make sure to sign up plenty of them. Once they enter a mission, they start falling in love with people. Not one of my Hosts has ever been an exception..."
