Playing the Villain Again Today

Mingxin transmigrates into a book, a power fantasy featuring a domineering male lead.

He's cast as the villainous male supporting character, appearing at crucial points in the male lead's life to mock him, put him down, and weaken his resolve.

Mingxin frets: "I don't know how to insult people."

This is a cultivation world where ordinary people get struck by lightning whenever they make the slightest progress in their cultivation. Mingxin gets struck by lightning even when he does nothing, because doing nothing is out of character for a villain.

After getting struck twice, Mingxin dutifully gets back up and plays the bad guy.

To put his late mother's keepsake in front of Lin Poxue and mock him with it, he spends half a year's savings to buy the necklace at an auction.

Mingxin: "Uh, take a look at this."

Lin Poxue: "..."

Mingxin: "It's your mother's keepsake. Beg me and I'll give it back."

To put the male lead down, he asks his family to hold a swordsmanship tournament. Lin Poxue falls just short and takes second place.

Mingxin: "See? You're not strong enough yet. There are plenty of people who didn't even compete, and they're all stronger than you."

Lin Poxue: "..."

Mingxin: "But it's fine. Second place gets a prize too."

Lin Poxue: "..."

To break the male lead's spirit, Mingxin arranges a citywide fireworks display on Lin Poxue's birthday.

Mingxin: "No one's celebrating your birthday with you. That's so pitiful."

Lin Poxue: "..."

Mingxin: "I set off these fireworks."

Lin Poxue: "...Mm, thank you."

Mingxin: "?"

One day, the young cultivator, now renowned throughout the world for his swordsmanship, asks him, "Is there someone you love?"

Mingxin shakes his head.

Lin Poxue then says, "What do you think of me?"

Mingxin freezes, horrified.

He whirls around and shouts at the heavens, "Don't strike me! I've been acting like a villain the whole time!"
