What Should I Do After Transmigrating Into a Runaway Sweetheart Story?

Yu Bo transmigrates into an old-school campus romance novel.

In the novel's old-fashioned setup, the heroine, Yu Yuan, is outstanding, but the male lead, Gu Jie, always edges her out by a tiny margin, leaving her in second place.

The original plot would have had the heroine grow tired of always coming second and transfer to the school where Gu Jie studies, so she could compete with him. In the end, she would fall in love with him.

But after Yu Bo transmigrates into the story, the plot changes completely. He becomes the heroine's twin brother, and under his sister's coercion, he has no choice but to put on women's clothes and attend school in her place.

Actually, Yu Bo really hates this sort of setup where someone is always just a little better, especially since the original heroine works hard and is an all-rounder. Someone who puts in that much effort shouldn't be crushed by a few lines of characterization.

So Yu Bo secretly vows to get justice for his sister.

On his first day after transferring, Yu Bo enters the classroom with a stony face, determined to commit to his cool-guy... cool-girl persona.

What he doesn't expect is that the aloof male lead from the original novel will come over and start a conversation.

"Yu Yuan, I'm Gu Jie."

Yu Bo keeps a straight face and says nothing, preparing to walk around Gu Jie.

But then the male lead takes a wounded step back and, in the plaintive voice of an innocent little flower, asks,

"Was I too forward and upset you? Why won't you talk to me, Yu?"

Yu Bo: Oh no, I've run into a scheming pretty boy!

Gu Jie comes from a dirt-poor family. During summer break, while working a part-time job, he meets Yu Bo, who has been forced to keep his hair long.

Love at first sight.

He hears that Yu Yuan responds to gentleness, not force, so he stays mild and patient, deliberately getting close to her.

But it seems...

Yu Bo: Win, win, win, win, win! I have to win!

Help! The person I like has no interest in romance and only wants to compete with me. What do I do?

Reading guide:

1. A slow-on-the-uptake, straight male receiver disguised as a "cool girl" and a scheming, calculating giver who doesn't realize he's acting like a sweet-talking manipulator.

2. The original heroine doesn't like the male lead, and there's no romance between them. The siblings are very close.
