Did the Player Get a Happy Ending Today?

Today, the player casually downloaded a game with pixel graphics and a story focused on dialogue.

The NPCs are good-looking, the story CGs are gorgeous, and there's even a character-creation service. The player approves.

At the same time, the player gives a huge thumbs-down to the bad endings that trigger whenever you make the wrong choice by accident.

Your stats are too low? Bad ending. Wrong choice? Bad ending. Right choice, but your stats are too low? Still a bad ending...

Player: This is a disaster.

After careful (?) deliberation, the player finally decides to face the world with madness and shatter the darkness with thunderous force (not really).

Dungeon One: Fleeting Moments

After trying all sorts of methods, the player chooses to lower [Mood] into the negatives to avoid being bullied by their older brother. They then successfully lie low until he dies, and begin their climb up the ranks in the Port Mafia.

Dungeon Two: A Moment's Mistake

The player chooses to give up rather than work hard or be dependable. Thus is born a third-rate detective: sharp-tongued, lazy, and fond of annoying their assistant.

Dungeon Three: Nightmare of Reincarnation

The player is sentenced to death from the start, so they decide to become a life coach, tease a young Six Eyes, and guide the Cursed Spirit Manipulator.

Uh, it's been a long time since I updated. My family tore up the outline I'd written, so I'm planning a major rewrite to sort out the plot and make it easier to follow.

Theme: Virtual worlds are life, too
