The players wore strange smiles and said they liked him, but above their heads floated a line of dazzling golden text.

Shi Yi froze on the spot, almost scared to tears. How did they know his real name?
To survive, little Shi Yi had to struggle to stuff the tentacles trying to poke out back inside himself. He acted harmless, hoping they wouldn’t kill him.
Luckily, his plan worked. He successfully fooled the strange humans and even got them to give him lots of snacks!
Then one day, Shi Yi met a little boy.
The players exclaimed in surprise, “Whoa, that’s the Child of Destiny, the savior who’ll eventually kill the Evil God!”
Terrified, Shi Yi’s fear turned to reckless courage. He decided to strike first while the boy was still small, and bit his hand hard.
The boy turned to stare at him expressionlessly.
Shi Yi went rigid. He instinctively put on a fawning smile and squeezed his eyes shut, ready to be hit.
Sure enough, the other boy retaliated by pinching his cheek.
Shi Yi opened his eyes, puffing up in indignation. The Child of Destiny really was the worst!

The long-awaited open-world virtual reality game Species finally entered beta testing.
But on launch day, all the players rushed toward one place and surrounded Shi Yi.
“We finally found our baby!”
“So cute!”
“I’m definitely adopting this baby!”
The players became so absorbed in raising their baby that they gradually forgot the main quest to kill the Evil God.
Then one day, a post suddenly appeared.
[Could it be that our baby is actually the main quest?!]
The photo attached showed half the pale, beautiful face of a much older boy hidden in the darkness. Sticky, hideous tentacles emerged from his shadow, sending chills down the viewer’s spine.
