No one knows that Ye Mianmian's much-despised mother, a concubine, once saved a young man. Though dressed in rags, the youth carried himself with distinction. He was none other than the disgraced Crown Prince.

After her mother died, the Crown Prince gave her two choices.

Enter the Eastern Palace and become his concubine. She would never have his steadfast love, but he would guarantee her a lifetime of wealth and luxury.

Or take a sum of gold and treasures, then marry whomever she pleased. The debt of having saved his life would be considered settled.

Back then, Ye Mianmian chose the second option.

The Crown Prince told her, "If you ever regret it, I will give you another chance to choose."

Ye Mianmian thought she would never regret her decision.

Until now.
