In the sixth year of the Jiachang era, the emperor dies, the crown prince disappears, and the ninth prince hastily ascends the throne.

He keeps facing the emperor. The young emperor looks at Prince Wei, whom Xu Mingqing has snubbed, and his eyes dart about.

His royal uncle is fierce and ruthless! This man is audacious beyond belief!

The young emperor is anxious, but when his uncle shows no sign of anger, he gathers himself and raises a hand as his uncle indicated. "My dear subject, please rise."

Xu Mingqing has barely left the palace when someone blocks his way. He tumbles onto the carriage's cushioned seat, nearly colliding with someone.

"It has been a long time." Xie Shen pulls him up and says mildly, "Have you forgotten how to greet people?"

Xu Mingqing opens and closes his mouth, the words stuck in his throat. After a long moment, he finally manages a quiet, "Little Father."

The Grand Secretary Xie is satisfied. He smiles warmly and strokes Xu Mingqing's head. "A Lin has just returned to the capital. Come home with Little Father and stay at my place."

Xu Mingqing suppresses his discomfort and refuses. "I have my own residence..."

Xie Shen lets go, leans back against the carriage wall, and stops smiling as he studies him.

Xu Mingqing tries to stay calm and speaks just as distantly. "Lord Xie, I will observe the duties of a subject and serve as an honest official. I take my leave."

Xie Shen looks at his own hand, his breathing growing heavier. At last, he lets out a rough laugh and leaves just like that.

He really has grown up. Nothing about him is the same.

Prince Wei and Grand Secretary Xie each hold immense power, their influence seemingly boundless.

Their factions undermine one another, keeping each other in check, until an earth-shattering upheaval suddenly changes everything.

That little brat Xu Mingqing has dug up what happened in the past behind their backs, making a huge scene of it.

Wei Xu is furious and storms straight into the Xie residence to seize him.

Xu Mingqing kneels between them, waiting to be punished.

[Basically, the vulgar setup is that the shou says he is afraid, but actually cannot live without the older man's control, and recklessly pushes people's limits because he knows he is indulged.]

● Main character is the shou in a 1v2 relationship. Everyone is chaste.

● The two adoptive fathers have nothing but hatred for each other and no romantic feelings. They raised the shou together when he was young because of his birth father.

● The shou seems gentle, but actually has a terrible temper. When he is particularly nasty, he lashes out at everyone indiscriminately, so he is bound to get beaten.

The author's older-man tastes are vulgar. The tone swings between depravity and sweet pampering.
