Dual perspectives.
Yun Feiyu first met Jiang Yunshan when she was eight.
He was wearing a white shirt, crouched in front of her, speaking gently.
He told her, "They don't understand you. It's not because there's anything wrong with you. Don't be sad."
He told her, "You are a bird in the sky, born different from everyone else. You don't need to please anyone."
She thought she might have a little crush on this older boy.
If he became her family, she was sure he would be a wonderful family member.
Yun Feiyu never imagined that one day he really would become part of her family.
She was ten, and he was fourteen.
He had lost the parents he loved dearly, and the smile as gentle as a cloud had disappeared completely.
He seemed like a plant someone had casually tossed onto the roadside, gradually losing its vitality.
Yun Feiyu carefully gathered up this withered "plant" and brought him home to care for him.
He became her new family.
The withered plant received sunlight, water, and love.
Everything a plant needs to survive.

When Jiang Yunshan was fourteen, he moved in with his mother's best friend.
Being suddenly thrust into a warm, harmonious family made him feel terribly anxious.
What he had not expected was that Yun Feiyu had been the first to suggest taking him in.
He had a new family.
Jiang Yunshan loved this family. He did not want to go through the pain of losing his family again.
However...
Without realizing it, he fell in love with Yun Feiyu, his new family member.
He did not dare confess his shameful feelings. He was too afraid of losing the chance to stay by her side and remain part of this family.
He once tried to distance himself from Yun Feiyu, only to despair when he found that the farther away he stayed, the more he missed her.
He simply could not leave her.
He was a tree that had grown because of everything she had given him, and he could not leave her side.
Jiang Yunshan: "I want to be a tree that reaches the sky and carries you far away."
"A tree cannot travel alongside a bird. But if you ever look back, you'll see me right behind you."
Reading guide:
1. The male and female leads aren't on the same household register. He's being fostered, more or less; his household registration is under his aunt. This is a childhood sweethearts story.
2. A gentle, insecure, restrained photographer hero, a doting homemaker type x an innocent, slow-to-catch-on, sunny manga artist heroine. Happy ending.
Theme: True love means, "I'll always be behind you, supporting and accompanying you. And you will become a better version of yourself."
