[Next Book: At This Point, I Might as Well Dream]
Chi Yu was born into a wealthy family, but lost both his parents at a young age and had to live with an uncle and aunt who hardly cared for him. Even his childhood sweetheart and fiancé broke up with him and called off their engagement.
By chance, Chi Yu got stranded inside a game, where he studied advanced mind-reading and truth-telling techniques under his master.
On the day he graduated, he returned to reality.
From then on, the world opened up to him in a different way.
His uncle and aunt's shocking romantic entanglements;
The reasons behind his childhood sweetheart's decision to end their engagement;
And the reason Gu Yuan was banned from competing.
Gossip was both a tool and a battle.
As the field of gossip grew wider, the truth behind the whole affair gradually came to light.
It turned out that his parents had died in a conspiracy, and that conspiracy had never stopped.
The awakening of mind-reading and truth-telling was not about satisfying his curiosity about other people's private lives. Seeking the truth and justice was the real goal.
*
On the day he returned, his aunt claimed she couldn't find some expensive jewelry and tried to frame Chi Yu and drive him out.
Chi Yu: "Didn't you give it to that little lover of yours surnamed Zhao?"
His aunt's expression changed. "Nonsense! I... I did give it to him. He said it didn't look good on me."
*
His former childhood sweetheart warned him self-righteously, "I'm engaged now. We're in love, so stop bothering me."
Chi Yu: "Oh? Didn't you pursue him only after you found out he was the son of the richest man? Though the richest man still has no plans to acknowledge him.
His ex panicked. "You're lying! We're in love! ... I really do love money."
*
One time, Gu Yuan tried to break up:
Gu Yuan: "Let's break up. I don't... Don't break up with me! Please, I can't live without you."
Chi Yu: "Tsk. Say that again?"

Coming soon: At This Point, I Might as Well Dream. I'll start writing it after I finish the truth-telling story. Here's the blurb:
Bugui has no family or friends, and no ties to hold him back.
But he does have a dream bar in the middle of a bustling district.
Rumor has it that the dream bar sells all kinds of dreams. Buy one, and it will come true when you wake up.
So more and more people come looking for the dream bar.
No matter what the price, they're willing to give it a try.
Bugui manipulates the threads of fate, weaving a dream just for each customer.
Until one day, he serves a strange customer.
Bugui: "Sir, I have a beautiful dream and a romantic dream. Which one would you like to buy?"
Lu Shi: "Give me the nightmare package."
It was the first time he'd received such a request, and Bugui was instantly intrigued.

A special agency detects an anomaly somewhere in the bustling district and assigns Lu Shi to investigate.
Lu Shi comes from a family with a long tradition of expertise. He is sharp and capable, one of the Special Bureau's best investigators. He has never failed to complete a special assignment.
But before he heads out, his superiors are deeply concerned. According to all the data, the other party possesses immense power and poses a major threat to human society.
So Lu Shi decides to pose as a customer and probe the other's true nature.
He never expected that, after being plagued by insomnia, he would sleep through the night for the first time at the dream bar.
Though in his dream he spent the whole time outsmarting a wanted criminal, and it was so exhausting he nearly threw up.
Lu Shi racks his brains for a way to stay at the dream bar and keep a close eye on his opponent. He glances up by chance and sees the wanted criminal from his dream dart past the bar's entrance.
*
After becoming a regular at the dream bar:
Bugui: "Are you satisfied with the dreams I give you?"
Lu Shi: "Is it too late to buy a romantic dream now? One with you in it."
*
The assignment drags on with no results, and at last Lu Shi's superior can't hold back and contacts him in secret.
Lu Shi: "Good timing. Help me figure out how to casually climb into his bed."
Superior: "?"
Lu Shi: "I want to get a good night's sleep."
At this point, I might as well dream.
There's nothing a dream can't solve.
