The War King Would Rather Die Than Submit

Zhan Beiqing was a distinguished prince of a different surname and a legendary general who defended the borderlands. His lifelong dream was to gallop across the battlefield and protect his country.

One day, he received an imperial edict ordering him to marry a man.

That man had risen to prominence on the coattails of his father, a corrupt official, and now wanted to marry him.

On their wedding night, Beiqing was furious and showed him no mercy at all.

"I will never be with a traitorous villain like you!"

Xiao Yinhuai knew that all of Ming believed his family were corrupt officials, arrogant and wicked thanks to the emperor's favor.

Yet among all the members of the imperial clan, he had fallen at first sight for that figure in black, and could never forget him.

The son of a corrupt official would be corrupt too. It seemed reasonable to think so.

He refused to share a room with him on their wedding night, and later kept telling him to go back to his family home.

His family home? Which of them was actually the wife?

Xiao Yinhuai smiled bitterly to himself, then gently soothed the man ahead of him, who was storming off with clenched teeth. "Beiqing, I was wrong. I'll do anything you ask for the rest of my life, even be your servant. Please don't get worked up and harm the baby, all right?"

Would the grandson of a corrupt official be corrupt too? He drew the thin-skinned man close and smiled softly. "Don't be angry anymore."

Not be angry? How could he not be angry?

The mighty God of War was carrying his child. How could he not be furious? The proud prince flung his hand away, regretting everything.

A guide to the tropes: Forced marriage, an arranged wedding, marriage first, love later, and childbirth.
