The reason is normally the hook of a getting-back-together story, but since the seme initiated the breakup, some readers might mind, so here's a spoiler. (The immediate reason for the breakup was that the uke lacked a sense of security and kept losing his temper and arguing with the seme for a while, which ties back to the first sentence of the blurb. The uke thought this was why he was dumped.) (The underlying reason was the uke's family-of-origin issues, which left him desperately craving familial affection. His family didn't approve of their relationship, and the seme mistakenly thought the uke wanted familial love more than romantic love, so he suggested they break up.) (Yes, it's a melodramatic misunderstanding. After the breakup, the seme quietly helped the uke from the shadows, earning money to support him while he studied abroad.
