Lately, its state had grown increasingly unstable, and it had nearly lost control several times.

But this time, the pitiful beauty sent to the altar didn't even realize how beautiful he was. Sitting on the stone platform and swinging his legs, he turned toward the darkness and smiled. “Who's there? Who's hiding in the dark?”

Innocent, fearless, beautiful, and fragile, he left the old evil god, who had gone countless years without a companion, completely lovestruck.

A few days later, the followers came to gather its leftover bones as usual. But when they opened the door, they saw this:

For the first time, the usually restless and violent god had taken human form. It willingly carried the living sacrifice, who should have been dead by now, to its dark throne. Supporting the man's frail ankle, it patiently coaxed him into putting on his shoes and socks. “Be good and listen.”

Unable to bring himself to kill, the young vampire hunter risked breaking the rules to save an injured vampire and took him home, caring for him meticulously day after day.

At first, the haughty vampire wanted none of it. But that foolish vampire hunter actually dared to offer his wrist, eyes full of concern, right up to the vampire's lips?!

It was as if something had struck his long-dormant heart. But the arrogance his long life had brought him would not let him admit so easily that he had feelings for an inferior species.

He blamed it all on hunger, then fled in shame.

After he left, someone reported the vampire hunter. Step by step, he was led to the execution platform and bound tightly to the stake. A burning torch landed at his feet, and scorching heat surged over him. Terrified, he shut his eyes.

But the searing pain he expected never came. Instead, a rain of blood fell from the sky. The proud, mysterious vampire duke spread his cloak and drew him into his arms, resting his chin on the top of his head. His voice carried a trace of fear he could barely conceal. “...Please, never leave me.”

A college student so sensitive he was almost neurotic could no longer continue his studies. While taking a leave of absence and working part-time at an aquarium, he accidentally wandered into a restricted area and encountered a huge but badly scarred orca.

For the first time, his mind fell completely still. After that, he often sneaked in to keep the orca company.

The orca was remarkably intelligent. He spent more and more time by the pool, even teaching the orca to perform all sorts of tricks. He began to smile more often.

Then an accident suddenly occurred, and the surging water swept him away and knocked him unconscious. In a daze, he thought he felt a man's arms holding him as he swam toward the surface, powerful whale flukes slicing through the water and leaving trails of sparkling bubbles.

When he came to, he realized he had woken up with his head on the man's chest. He couldn't quite accept it.

The orca, half transformed into human form, smiled slyly and kissed his cheek, just like he'd been trained to do. “I already let you see everything. Why are you still embarrassed?”

Only when he was cornered, meeting those eyes full of pain and restraint, did he belatedly notice the unnatural heat in his cheeks and the heart thumping in his chest.
