[Passionate young marshal and poet in a turbulent age x aloof, self-disciplined student leader and architect] (Both reborn, mutual salvation)
Lu Qinyun first met Bai Jingyu at the entrance to the Lu residence.
The boy was ragged and disheveled, with amber eyes as clear as a spring when he looked back at him.
Lu Qinyun thought, Since I'm so lonely, why not have this boy keep me company? I can raise him like the most loyal, most obedient pet.
He would call him Goldfish.
He never imagined that one day, even an obedient fish would bite.
Because of this Goldfish, the Young Marshal's residence fell overnight.
When he saw Jingyu again, they faced each other through the smoke of war, separated by a turbulent age.
Until Lu Qinyun was surrounded and driven to the end of his road.
After Young Marshal Lu died, Bai Jingyu told the people in the courtroom:
"I knew he deliberately shot wide. He deliberately waited before pulling the trigger.
I loved him too, and I hope he is neither alive nor dead."
The world was in an uproar.
When Lu Qinyun opened his eyes again, he had returned to the day he first met Bai Jingyu.
Those same clear, unchanging eyes looked back at him.
He walked straight toward him.
"Jingyu, I'll give you anything you want,
if you'll agree to come with me."
In this life, he would do everything in his power to change their ill-fated destiny.
Until one day, he heard the person in his arms say:
"Lu Qinyun, I know you deliberately shot wide. You deliberately waited before pulling the trigger.
I love you too, and I hope we stay together, no matter what happens."
"Would you recite that love poem for me again?"
Both leads are reborn.
One-on-one romance, childhood sweethearts in their previous life, both virgins. A tragic ending in their previous life, a happy ending in this one.
[Author's note]
There's a song I've had on repeat in my playlist for a long time: "Winter of the Nineteenth Year of the Republic of China" (original song: "A Ten-Thousand-Character Love Poem"; lyrics by Yuxue Feifei).
I wanted to write a tragic love poem about half the lives of the characters in this story.
At the same time, I wanted to give them a happy ending of mutual salvation.
"Once a person learns how to remember, they will never be lonely again.
Even if you live in this world for only one day, your memories can keep you company in a prison for a hundred years without difficulty."
