The ocean has been polluted, leaving marine animals homeless.

Ren Qiuyu, a sea otter, takes human form and is forced onto land, where he develops save-and-load abilities.

To evade capture by human researchers and create a new home for marine life, Ren Qiuyu flees with his younger sister to the remote Jixiang Village.

In Jixiang Village, Ren Qiuyu meets Wen Ting, a frustrated village secretary. Ren Qiuyu is positive and optimistic, while Wen Ting is pessimistic and has given up.

Ren Qiuyu (excited): There's nothing we can't solve together!

Wen Ting (disdainful): Did you take the wrong medicine? I'm not doing it!
