The night before returning home, Shi Huawu met a handsome, well-built man in the darkness of the night.

His arms were strong and firm. When they kissed, he cradled the back of her head, and afterward, he patiently fed her water, one sip at a time.

Shi Huawu thought they would never meet again. When she left, she walked away without a trace of reluctance.

A financial crisis suddenly hit her family, but by the time Shi Huawu rushed home, it had already been resolved.

Her father said with a smile, "Luckily, an old friend of mine was willing to help."

When her benefactor came over for tea, she learned that the man who had helped her family was the same one she'd spent the night with: Fei Zhehai.

Fei Zhehai was dressed formally that day, his shirt concealing the tattoo on his lower abdomen and the lines of his muscles.

He looked Shi Huawu up and down. "Have we met before?"

Shi Huawu hurriedly shook her head. "How could we have? I've never met you!"

"Then I must be mistaken." Fei Zhehai held out his hand. "Hello, Xiao Wu. Nice to meet you."

Their brief handshake sent a familiar warmth prickling across Shi Huawu's scalp, plunging her back into the heated night they'd shared.

Her father noticed the dinosaur charm Fei Zhehai carried around and said, "My daughter has one exactly like that!"

Fei Zhehai glanced at Shi Huawu and said casually, "I picked up a little fox a while ago. She was playful and ran off. I have to keep her toy so she doesn't forget who I am."

Seeing her father grow suspicious, Shi Huawu waited for a moment when they were alone, cornered Fei Zhehai, and demanded with her hands on her hips, "What are you implying? Who are you talking about?"

Fei Zhehai chuckled softly. "Little fox, do you remember me now?"
