The Third Variation

Zhu Ning has been frail since childhood, so her parents are always keeping an eye on her.

And so is the older girl next door, who looks after her.

Though she's in poor health, Zhu Ning is cheerful and gets along well with her classmates.

The older girl is in her class, too. Since her parents entrusted Zhu Ning to her care, the girl's eyes are always on her, whether she means them to be or not.

Because of this special bond, Zhu Ning also learns piano from Gu Shu.

Bickering, arguing, even falling out and making up: it happens all the time.

One day, Zhu Ning sees her older sister Gu Shu walking and laughing with someone.

It's a smile Zhu Ning has never seen before.

Gu Shu is always cool and distant around her, and sometimes even seems unable to stand her.

A gust of wind ruffles Zhu Ning's heart and throws all her plans into disarray.

The secret buried in her heart finally upends everything.

Cheerful and adorable Zhu Ning x sharp-tongued but soft-hearted queen Gu Shu
