A Gaokao Reject from Tsinghua and Peking University, Livestreaming Online

"Huaimin hadn't gone to bed either?" That's a pretty funny meme, and it really captures the modern impulse to question and deconstruct everything.

I figure this was probably how Old Su's thoughts went at the time.

He was at home eating hotpot and singing, already planning to write it down later and send it to all his friends and relatives. Especially Ziyou: Your brother specifically called on you to write a poem in reply! No one else gets this honor!

Then, out of nowhere, he was demoted and sent to Huangzhou at the speed of a sudden thunderclap, before he could even say "Jack Robinson."

With that kind of pressure, Su Shi only suffered from insomnia. He was already taking it pretty well.

He even bothered just one person, Zhang Huaimin, who may or may not have been asleep.

Isn't he practically the model citizen of the Great Song?

"No need to explain it like that for me, young friend Yang."

Seeing the teasing looks from his friends, Su Shi thought with despair.

Wouldn't it have been better not to explain at all?

But sadness can be passed on, just as happiness never truly disappears.

Yang Xingyu's thoughts were always freewheeling and all over the place. Before long, he'd taken the conversation in a whole new direction.

What does a streamer do when they're stressed?

What streamers do is pretty normal, I guess... like imitating animal noises. It's genuinely stress-relieving.

Who was it? Who called that weird? And who keeps spamming the chat? The streamer is unhappy. The streamer has feelings. The streamer is getting depressed. The streamer is going to make some noise.

Woof, woof! Woof, woof, awooo! ... Meow? Meow, meow! ... Great Chu is rising, Chen Sheng becomes king! Squeak, squeak!

How can a fox not make that sound? Our foxes have been making that sound for two thousand years! If you don't believe me, go read the Records of the Grand Historian.

Some people who had read the Records of the Grand Historian lost it all over again. That was so cheeky, so bold.
