The Imperial Capital University has strength, connections, knowledge of food, and architecture. Ninety-nine out of a hundred things about it are perfect, but there is one flaw everyone complains about: the cafeteria food is awful.
The dishes look nothing like their names. Stir-fried cabbage becomes a watery cabbage mush, spicy chicken becomes fried chicken chunks with soggy batter and bitter meat, and braised pork turns into boiled fat with a thick layer of lard floating on top. Every so often, they serve an "innovative dish" to nourish everyone: chili pepper stir-fried with tomatoes, strawberries stewed with potatoes, beef stir-fried with watermelon, eggs stir-fried with mooncakes, and even snow skin mochi stewed with pork intestines... and more dishes that make Imperial Capital University students suffer terribly.
Aside from the chefs at Imperial Capital University, no one else could make a single ingredient taste sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, and salty all at once.
Five-star general MacArthur once said, "No one can leave Imperial Capital University having gained weight. I'd rather eat roasted maggots."
When the new semester began, students were amazed to discover that the cafeteria, which always seemed to be under construction, had finally opened! And the contractor was a beautiful woman.
Most importantly, the owner was kind and beautiful, and her food was delicious and healthy. The students, who had been exploited for far too long, ate and ate. This is delicious, I'll have some. That is delicious too, I'll have some of that as well.
Waaah, whatever, I just want to eat!
The owner was amazing. She made whatever the students wanted, found excellent suppliers all across the country, and even organized free trips for students to her orchard, where they could pick wild vegetables and enjoy the fun of harvesting lotus roots and catching fish.
She offered work-study jobs and took in cats and dogs. Since street snacks weren't clean, she opened her own shop to make sure students could enjoy tasty snacks.
And because she was afraid students wouldn't like the food outside, she took over all the food in the entire city.
She did so many other things that the students were moved to tears: The owner loves us so much! We have to protect the best boss ever!
The thing was, by the end of the semester, everyone's weight had changed to some degree.
Students whose pants wouldn't fit: The pants must have secretly shrunk! I haven't gained weight!
The owner, Bai Yegge, who was simply very rich and was doted on by the System: Huh?
She had merely been a good person for ten lifetimes when the [Tycoon] System came to her and asked what she wished for. Having suffered three years of university cafeteria food, she said she wanted to take over a cafeteria, so the System gave her one.
As for the orchards, greenhouses, fishing boats, buildings, and streets, she earned those by working hard to collect happiness points, okay?
Many years later, her city was named the happiest city in the country.
When Bai Yegge was interviewed, she scratched her head. "I don't know. I just make good food." )
