Yin Huaisi jolted awake aboard a speeding train. Her confusion lasted only an instant: she should have been reduced to ashes in an explosion.
As the Special Investigations Bureau director's first assistant and the sharpest weapon in his hands, she bore the outside world's accusations of being a "lackey" and a "heartless machine." She had long made peace with the prospect of dying in the line of duty.
But if she hadn't quite died...
Then shouldn't she at least find out why she'd come back to life?
And so, in an infinite game and on livestreams, the human killing machine was back in action.
One day, a livestream appeared on some people's phones:
A gloomy old castle. A meeting of survivors.
"The chef is the most suspicious!" the group analyzed, their faces pale.
Yin Huaisi, resting with her eyes closed in a corner, slowly opened them and nodded calmly.
Moments later, as the players gasped, she returned, carrying the chef's distinctive head, drenched in blood.
"Ruled out," she said in a cool voice. "Next?"
Viewers: ...??? You call that the process of elimination?!
A mirror maze, crawling with ghostly hands.
The players trembled as they tried to identify the one path to survival.
Yin Huaisi couldn't be bothered. She raised a foot, and the supposedly indestructible mirror wall shattered.
Then she punched open a wide, glass-strewn road straight to the exit.
Everyone stared at her steadily retreating figure and the crudely carved passage behind her, collectively petrified.
Viewers: ...Isn't something off here? Is this even reasonable?
A sunken ship in the deep sea, haunted by wailing vengeful spirits.
The clues pointed to the captain's log in the cabin.
Yin Huaisi stared at the heavy safe. A password? A combination? Too slow.
She rolled her wrist and went straight to work...
The ghosts' shrieks cut off abruptly, and the way to safety opened.
The others were numb. ...We're still solving the puzzle, and you've already exorcised them with brute force?!
Before long, a legend was born in the infinite game: a human nuclear bomb had arrived. The rules were fragile trinkets before her absolute strength.
Feng Buqi, the newly appointed head of the Special Investigations Bureau, whom everyone secretly called an indescribable being, had this to say:
"A livestream? Boring."
Yet he clicked in anyway, out of sheer boredom.
He never expected to meet a familiar pair of eyes.
The bureau's greatest prodigy, whom he had buried with his own hands; the martyr who bore countless accusations; his... dead white moonlight.
Yin Huaisi.
Alive and well, standing atop the ruins.

Feng Buqi's life had once been an endless night.
There had been only cold political schemes, endless assassinations, and one... fool who annoyed him, yet whom he couldn't let go of.
Yin Huaisi, the bureau's universally acknowledged loyal dog of a director, was willing to bear every stain for that ridiculous glimmer of dawn, and even embraced the thought of sacrificing her life.
He loathed her foolish, impassioned idealism, and hated the world that smeared her name even more.
"This world is filthy through and through. There's nothing worth staying for."
He whispered, his gaze fixed on the bloodied figure returning from the ruins.
"Except you, Miss Yin."
A heroine with maxed-out combat ability, a steady core, and the nature of a sun and a rose
A hero with exceptional intelligence, weary of the world and darkly obsessive, drawn to light and flowers
