Bai Yue transmigrated into a book and became a servant. After being drugged with an aphrodisiac, he was locked away in the Prince of Crime's manor to help the crown prince humiliate his most envied younger brother, Xiao Yi.
But Xiao Yi was the protagonist. The suffering inflicted on him now was simply one of the many trials he would endure before achieving greatness.
The protagonist was vengeful to the extreme. The moment he became emperor, he would grind every member of the crown prince's faction to dust that very night!
Bai Yue: "T-theoretically, is it possible to restore a human body after it's been carbonized???"
In short, he couldn't do this, but he had no choice.
After much deliberation, Bai Yue decided to take it slowly, work at a measured pace, and never rush in recklessly.
Especially when Xiao Yi went mad after losing his sight and breaking his leg. To stay alive, Bai Yue had to soothe him before getting to work, and treat him first so he could keep going afterward.
As soon as the drug wore off, Bai Yue fled in the middle of the night. Who knew he'd run right into Xiao Yi, who was heading south to put down a rebellion?
Among a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, he met those cold eyes and hurried to pledge allegiance. Through a twist of fate, he joined the army and gradually rose to become the shady military advisor at Xiao Yi's side.
From then on, every day he helped Xiao Yi look for people, kill people, and find people who wanted to kill him.
Bai Yue: *trembling in fear.jpg*
At last, when the protagonist ascended the throne, Bai Yue resigned and returned to his hometown. He picked out a picturesque place with clear waters and green hills, then rode there in a carriage piled with his savings, in a procession grander than a ten-mile wedding parade.
The imperial mansion had just been completed. Its quiet, elegant appearance was perfectly to his taste. Far from the past, Bai Yue wanted nothing more than a good night's sleep.
Yet the interior of the mansion looked eerily familiar.
Bamboo leaves rustled. Bai Yue shivered with dread. In the depths of their shadows, he saw a black dragon robe embroidered with gold. Then he fell into the wheelchair he had made with his own hands.
A feverish, unhinged excitement churned in Xiao Yi's eyes. His gaze traced Bai Yue's utterly bloodless face. He gripped the little military advisor's slender leg, rubbed his ankle, and placed it on the armrest.
The man's pale lips pressed against Bai Yue's ear, but his breath was hot enough to make him tremble.
"You were so good at running. Now you'll never get away."
Reading guide:
1. Both are virgins. Obsessive mad-dog tyrant VS clever, stunning civil official.
2. The bottom is slippery and hard to pin down; the top is obsessively deranged.
