As an utterly unremarkable Beta teacher who taught Military Theory, Cui Wumian kept crossing paths with the plot as it unfolded around the world.
On the first day of school, he went for a run around the track at night and came across the poor Omega protagonist resisting bullying by the children of aristocrats to the death.
While walking around campus, he happened upon the first male lead, badly injured after leaving an underground fighting arena and climbing over the wall to get back to school.
At the cafeteria, he witnessed two of the most powerful Alphas get into a huge fight.

His ex, the former Crown Prince, comes crawling back. Cui Wumian smiles and says, “A Beta is a Beta. A Beta can't become your wife. I've already accepted being kept here by you, becoming the greatest accomplishment of your life, haven't I?”
Cui Wumian, a Beta teacher of military theory, sickly, smiling, utterly ordinary and harmless to people and animals. He's known around campus as someone with powerful connections.
But only those who have seen him in action know why the highest levels of power fear him so much.
