Wen Chao was known throughout the capital as the Ten-Mile Yama. At court, all anyone could see from afar was his cold, narrow eyes behind the silver half-mask, now streaked with blood.
The closest Jiang Yezi ever came to this underworld Yama was when he was peacefully walking down the street and suddenly got taken hostage.
The bandit's blade was pressed against top scholar Jiang's neck as he threatened Wen Chao, demanding to be let go.
Wen Chao's mask had vanished somewhere during the pursuit. A vivid red cut on his cheek was still bleeding.
He smiled, lips crimson, his gaze fierce. He was still wearing the Embroidered Uniform Guard's black uniform, embroidered with a dragon soaring across the seas. Blood covered him, and he held a sword.
His voice was cold.
"Do I have to teach you how to kill?"
"A little to the left. Just make a light cut."
From then on, these two were at odds. The newly risen star of the capital, Jiang Yezi, was a gentleman who never cursed, though he could be a little petty. He set aside an entire page in his thick ledger to record Lord Wen's misdeeds.
Later, Jiang Yezi became the youngest Minister of the Court of Judicial Review in history. In charge of the laws of the land, he was fair and impartial, spirited, and fiercely opposed to evil. He clashed with the mad dogs of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, unleashed by the imperial court, and none more so than its leader, Wen Chao.
Every day, the Court of Judicial Review had to hire dozens of guards to keep watch around their boss, for fear that the mad dog of a leader might one day take Jiang Yezi's head.
No one ever saw the fair-minded gentleman, Lord Jiang, pin Wen Chao against a wall, bite open his red-gold uniform, and lick the terrifying scar on his collarbone. His expression was fierce, but his touch was impossibly gentle.
"Hiss..."
The mad dog of a leader was caught completely off guard by the seemingly helpless Lord Jiang.
"I'm starting to think you're the real dog here, Jiang Yezi!"
"I am," Jiang Yezi murmured.
A gloomy Embroidered Uniform Guard mad dog x a smiling, black-hearted Minister of the Court of Judicial Review
One curses and grumbles x one stays pleasant and composed
A cruel, ruthless demon lord x a genius of mechanical ingenuity
"I was caught in storms, trapped in the mud, and thrown among wolves and tigers, where they devoured flesh and whipped my bloodied skin. Even if the world treats me like a stray dog, I will not turn back, even if I never find a place beneath the azure sky."
"You saved me from the flames and the flood. You washed the mud from me. What ancient mirror did you come from, to reflect this lonely, broken heart of mine?"
"Jiang Yezi, you have to treat me well."
I refuse to believe the world's slander and condemnation of you. I believe in your heart.

I look forward to the author's updates. I have collected every book in my collection. The introduction is really attractive!!!
This is a big bug for the author ~ "because" → "thought"
