[Octopath Traveler II] There's No Way I Could Become a Hero After Reincarnating in Another World (Anime Crossover)

(I started this story on a whim one day after work, when I was questioning my whole life.)

(As I said, this is a pit of a story... Meaning it's really a pit. Updates will be at least six months apart. When inspiration strikes, I'll update quickly; when I have no ideas, I'll vanish off the face of the earth.)

(A warning up front... Starting this story is risky, so proceed with caution.)

(The opening contains spoilers for Octopath Traveler II. Please read after finishing the game, or if you don't mind spoilers.)

Here's a very casual blurb:

This is a story about someone who transmigrates after playing Octopath Traveler II after work.

Since it's another world, a magical continent with a medieval European flavor mixed with a bit of Japanese Edo style, of course there have to be heroes!

Heroes exist to save the world!

For this world, for every ordinary, unremarkable tomorrow

Huh? Why a hero? Because becoming a hero is every chuunibyou girl's dream! (Not really!)

But there's no way I'll become a hero after being reborn in another world. And the reason is

Pairing with the cleric Temenos. Original female lead, eleven-year age gap, sort of half-raising-her and half-childhood-friends... maybe?

The story begins sixteen years before the main plot.

A large portion of the novel is told from the female lead's first-person perspective.

The cleric route is a rescue route. I'll do my best to save all the NPCs from their tragic fates... As for the other routes, I'll try.

It's tagged as a crossover because the female lead will travel to other worlds. Since this is a game fanfic, she'll visit various game worlds, of course.

Probably Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy, Octopath Traveler I... and so on. I'll talk about it when I get there. (Sobs)
