Solving Cases with Animals in the 1990s

Yuanjiang Street has been buzzing lately.

Liao Qin, the famous iron lady of the neighborhood, has actually adopted a new child! Everyone's pointing and laughing, saying she must have gone crazy after losing her own child, if she's taking in a little jinx.

They were all waiting to see her make a fool of herself. Who could have guessed that after this little unlucky charm joined her family...

Liao Qin solved case after case, rising from an ordinary police officer all the way to bureau chief.

Her husband, Gu Qu, was promoted to director, became a school principal, and eventually became a renowned child psychology researcher in the city.

The little jinx, Qiqi, became a lucky charm too. She found the toys one family had lost, the treasure that had vanished from another, and even Liao Qin's child, who had gone missing years ago.

As everyone praised her, Qiqi proudly hugged her little cat. Well, she could understand what animals said, after all!

Qiqi was a little jinx, the seventh child in her family. Her parents had sold all the children born before her.

Her parents were arguing about selling Qiqi when things went wrong. Her mother accidentally stabbed her father to death, then ran off, leaving Qiqi with the corpse for three days before anyone found them. Qiqi survived thanks to a mother cat nursing her, and was eventually sent to live with another family.

The first family were spies. The woman pretended to be a mother, but every so often she'd hurt Qiqi to gather information.

At last, they were arrested, and Qiqi was sent to a new family. The adoptive mother got pregnant the very next month. Before they could celebrate, she miscarried in the third month.

Qiqi was sent to another family.

The third family seemed perfectly normal, but one parent was abusive and the other mistreated children.

By the time Qiqi escaped them again, she'd earned the title of little jinx, and no one dared go near her. Just as she was about to be sent to an orphanage, Officer Liao, who had met her three times, adopted her.

How did Qiqi know all this? The little cat was the offspring of the mother cat who had nursed her, making it Qiqi's own cat sister, though they had different parents.

Looking at her brave and beautiful new mom, Qiqi knew things would be all right this time.

Little Cat's intel was never wrong.
