Dark Currents of the Night

1.

Shen Keyu is the Shen family's one and only darling. Showered with love from a young age, she grew up with a free and spirited personality.

She took the same approach to marriage.

After a year of marriage, aside from fulfilling their basic marital duties, Shen Keyu had barely seen her husband.

At a party, a friend teased her for being henpecked and said she had become much more restrained since getting married.

"Don't you want to experience being truly in love?"

"Are you really willing to spend your whole life with someone you married for the sake of an alliance?"

Shen Keyu stared pensively at her reflection in her glass.

To be honest, she was a little tempted.

The next morning.

Shen Keyu woke up, pulled the covers over herself, and handed the man beside her the divorce papers she'd prepared.

"Meng Jinze, let's get a divorce."

"I want to pursue the person I love."

2.

The Meng family had been in business for generations, and Meng Jinze was an imposing figure in the business world: aloof, cold, and ruthless.

Yet he was nothing but tender toward Shen Keyu.

After a year of marriage, they had treated each other with polite respect.

But no one knew about the wild, private desire he harbored for her.

His last shred of reason crumbled when Shen Keyu said the word "divorce."

Meng Jinze stared fixedly at the red mark on her collarbone, rubbing it again and again with his thumb.

The meaningful smile tugging at his lips made him look dangerously enticing.

"Divorce?"

"The person you love?"

"Could you try loving me instead?"

No one knew that she was the one person he had schemed and maneuvered to obtain.
