[Dream of the Red Chamber] The Imperial Preceptor Reigns Supreme

The night before leaving for the capital, Lin Daiyu caught a chill and burned with fever all night.

When she woke the next day, she hurried to get up and set out, afraid of delaying the trip, but a pair of warm hands pressed her back into bed.

It was her mother, who had long since died of illness, smiling as she asked what she wanted for breakfast.

Jia Min was completely baffled. She was alive and well, so why was her precious daughter saying she'd died?

Could her daughter have been possessed?

She considered finding an expert to drive the evil spirits from her daughter.

There was a Taoist temple on Mount Maoshan, said to be very effective, so Jia Min took Lin Daiyu there to seek help.

Lin Daiyu curiously poked the little Taoist's cheek. "Hey, big brother, what are you doing here?"

Wen Ziqi opened his eyes and looked at her, his gaze deep, as though he had fixed on his prey.

The best hunters often appear to be the prey.
