The Game's Villain Thinks I'm a God

Shen Yi, a gaming blogger with an obsession for getting every achievement, was persuaded by his fans to buy a single-player game called Wasteland.

The game had once been a huge hit. Its exceptionally high degree of freedom and brutally tragic ending had divided players' opinions.

There were walkthroughs everywhere online, but no one had ever managed to unlock one particular achievement.

As soon as he started the game, Shen Yi did what he always did: repeatedly save and reload to complete achievements. Then he unexpectedly discovered that after every reload, the game's main antagonist, Yi Wuyou, reacted differently.

Could he actually remember what happened before the reload?

Shen Yi: Is this a bug?

Never mind. As long as it doesn't affect the achievements, it's fine!

Yi Wuyou thought Shen Yi was a strange god.

Like a diligent little bee, he performed strange, meaningless actions, interpreting perfection by his own peculiar standards. Whenever those standards weren't met, the world started over.

He would once again act like a purely kind person, doing things no one else could understand. Sometimes the world would rewind more than a dozen times because of him.

Without sorrow or joy, without feelings or desires, he seemed to treat the world as some kind of game.

Yi Wuyou thought: No one resembles a god more than he does.

Suddenly, Yi Wuyou no longer wanted to destroy the world.

He wanted to draw this capricious god over to his side and use him to change this hopeless world.

Theme: Life isn't predetermined. As long as you're willing to persevere, you can make a change.
