Winning Over the Icy Beauty [GB Sentinel/Guide]

Wen Ran has the face of an adorable girl, but she's a rare SSS-rank Sentinel, strong enough to lift a cauldron and blessed with stable mental strength.

Thanks to her overwhelming strength, she's used to fighting alone. She deals out brutal damage on missions and never needs aftercare, making her a pillar of the base.

Until an accident sends her into her first state of frenzy, and she's brought back to the base for treatment.

For the first time, Wen Ran meets the renowned SSS-rank Guide, the unattainable beauty admired by countless Sentinels: Gui Zhihan.

He's a cold, aloof man, slender in build, with shoulder-length silver-white hair, pale gray eyes as inorganic as stone, and a tiny beauty mark at the corner of one eye.

Wen Ran is transfixed.

She knows that high-ranking Guides are a scarce resource for the entire base, and that someone of Gui Zhihan's caliber is expected to serve all Sentinels.

Yet when Gui Zhihan approaches her treatment bed with a detached expression, ready to soothe her, Wen Ran suddenly grabs his hand. For the first time in her life as a solo fighter, she wishes to bond with someone.

"Gui Zhihan, will you be my partner?"

Wen Ran, whose mind is unstable from her frenzy, doesn't see the flicker of emotion in the man's eyes. After a moment of silence, he withdraws his hand, restrained and self-controlled.

"I can't."

Gui Zhihan rejects her.
