Not a Thing

“Not a thing” is a Northeastern expression meaning “worthless.”

Xin Fan’s mom is always saying she’s worthless, always stirring up trouble, skipping school and getting into fights, never acting her age.

Xin Fan thinks her mom is right.

But in her chaotic life, how many people are actually worth anything? Her mom, who drinks all day and never comes home? Or her dad, who cheated while his wife was pregnant?

If you ask her, her classmate Cheng Jian is the most respectable of them all: top of the class, well-off, always on duty as a student monitor, and forever giving speeches beneath the flag.

A model student like that, so upright and wholesome, just has to be corrupted, right?

Xin Fan treats him like prey, like a practice target, doing everything she can to be a complete menace. But she’s too clever for her own good.

Only after the warmth of love has softened every one of her prickles does Xin Fan realize that Cheng Jian has been laying his plans step by step all along.

When it comes to being a menace, no one can top Cheng Jian.

Note:

1. The story takes place in Northeast China.

2. This is not a rural romance drama!!!
