Little Ones, Charge!

Four-year-old Molly waved her chubby little hand and shouted gleefully, "Charge! Let's defeat the evil dragon!" She charged ahead and reached the "evil dragon" first, swinging the little wooden sword in her hand with all her might.

"Charge!" cried three-and-a-half-year-old Stone, following her with a little wooden sword of his own. He ran toward the "evil dragon," but after only a couple of steps, he tripped and fell. He looked up, his face covered in dirt, with tears welling in his eyes.

Bouncy, three months younger than Stone, nimbly raced past him and managed to land a blow on the "evil dragon" with her wooden sword. Then she and Molly attacked wildly together.

Last came Tiger Girl, who wasn't even three yet. She toddled over to the "evil dragon," realized her wooden sword had gone missing, and clenched her little fist to punch the "evil dragon" with all her might.

After they had been attacking for a while, Molly lifted her chubby little face and told the "evil dragon," "Dad, you're dead. Lie down."

The tall, handsome man lowered his head and obediently lay down.

Much, much later, grown-up Molly breathed a long stream of dragon fire and asked her three friends, "Are you here to slay the dragon?"

Grown-up Stone put away the magic wand in his hand. "If I'd known the evil dragon was our big sister, I wouldn't have come."

"I came to chat with our big sister." Grown-up Bouncy hid the greatsword behind her back.

Tiger Girl, perched on a bone dragon, let out a laugh like silver bells. "Big sis, catch me!" With that, she leapt straight down from the bone dragon.

Molly was startled and hurried into the air to catch her, scolding, "With a little body like yours, you could get yourself killed falling like that!"

"With you here, big sis, I'm not scared." Tiger Girl giggled.

I want to write about a group of adorable little ones. If you'd like to read that, feel free to bookmark it.
