Sang Ran and Chu Xia knew each other for five years and were in love for three.
From being inseparable to tormenting each other, they finally parted ways utterly exhausted.
After the breakup, Sang Ran drank until her mind was foggy. In a daze, she heard someone ask, "If you can't bear to let go, why break up?"
Sang Ran grabbed the person and, emboldened by the alcohol, rambled on about all her grievances.
"She doesn't even like me."
"She never sticks close to me or takes the initiative."
"It's exhausting, always chasing after someone."
"If I could do it all over again, I'd definitely date someone who chased after me."
To her surprise, she really did get another chance. She returned to the moment when she was eighteen, after she first confessed to Chu Xia and was rejected.
This was exactly what Sang Ran wanted.
She turned and walked away. This time, she would focus on her studies and career, and stay away from women.
In class, she deliberately avoided Chu Xia and steered clear of every activity involving her. She also gave all of Chu Xia's messages the cold shoulder.
She thought their ill-fated relationship was finally over, but before long, Chu Xia came looking for her.
"Why are you deliberately avoiding me?"
Chu Xia held tightly to her wrist. A flush tinged her beautiful, cool eyes, and her voice sounded wounded.
"Weren't you the one who rejected me first?" Sang Ran was confused, but stood her ground. "You rejected me, I avoid you. Now we're even."
Before she could finish, a cool tear fell onto the back of her hand, making her skin shiver.
"After we're even, can we start over?"
