After perishing together with the Zombie King, Xin Yi transmigrates into a wasteland world.
In this place, where technology has collapsed, the soil is polluted, and mutant species run rampant, 1% of high-level Awakened control 99% of society's resources. Using the name of God as a pretext, they hold humanity's fate in their hands.
The good news is that Xin Yi seems to have been mistaken for a descendant of some mysterious noble family.
The bad news is that she's a liar, and a liar from the slums at that.
What can Xin Yi do? To stay alive, she has to keep pretending to be a noble.
To that end, she must do her best to display some of the qualities expected of nobility:
Wealth, [Take part in a kidnapping for ransom and earn the achievement: Turn the Tables on the Crooks]
Wisdom, [Move among the noble circles without ever giving yourself away]
Courage, [Become a core member of the resistance and successfully infiltrate the official inspectorate]
Strength, [Blow up an Awakened's tower single-handedly and walk away unharmed]
Legend has it that on the day the apocalypse arrived, God intervened to preserve humanity's last spark of life. But after exhausting its power, God could only fall into a temporary slumber.
When the seven noble families beloved by God gather, God will return to the world and lead humanity to paradise.
At last, the final mysterious noble is discovered. The Chosen can finally leave this barren soil and head for the legendary Garden of Eden.
As everyone looks on expectantly, God twitches an eyelid, then collapses with a crash.
Xin Yi, the real culprit, fake descendant of nobility, blows on the barrel of her gun: You believe in a God this useless? You might as well believe in me.
After all, I've already become a match for God.
[Reader's Guide]
1. Wasteland + Lovecraftian horror + a little cyberpunk space-opera vibe. The worldbuilding is my own.
2. The heroine is the strongest, both physically and mentally.
3. Power progression story, possibly a little slow to warm up. The heroine has room to grow too.
4. Little romance.
