The Oriole

[Free story, complete in one chapter. The story next door, Jiaojiao, is taking forever to write, so here's something to tide you over T-T]

A cynical, aloof troublemaker bottom x a brooding top who falls hard after one bit of flirting

Song Liang is a cannon-fodder office worker.

In a domineering protagonist story, he's the auction house receptionist who looks down on the poor and sucks up to the rich.

Then one day, a tall man in a black robe walks into the auction house and drops a bag of cheap pill bottles in front of him.

Damn, the plot is finally starting.

Wait, why are you kneeling on the ground, covered in blood, begging me not to leave you?

Reading tips:

1. There are lots of twists, lots of twists! Read to the end before you complain! (Just don't be too harsh, I'll have a breakdown.)

2. I wrote this in a hurry, so typos are inevitable. Please, princesses, point them out in the comments.

3. The top really does intend to use the bottom at first, and he's a bit sharp-tongued early on. (?) Not recommended for deep-dive readers.

4. The top is chaste.

5. If you want to criticize the top or the author, don't criticize the bottom.

6. The ending is open, with one-sided love. (The bottom never returns his feelings.)

Theme: Hold fast to truth, goodness, and beauty.
