CP: Snape x Houston
Severus Snape had always felt that something about his life was hollow and out of place.
Later, he learned it was because someone had taken his place in his own life.
That person was Billy Houston, the child who lived in Spinner's End.
Billy Houston, a supposedly frail child, spent more than twenty years living in Britain, completed his compulsory education, got his degree from Oxford, and finally said goodbye to the world.
Goodbye, then. The next one will be more obedient.
Billy, with all his thoughts on the next world, finally arrived in Britain in 1960.
Billy: ?
What do you do when your ex refuses to let go?
He had a feeling this world wasn't going to be obedient.
Billy struggled to make three wishes.
First, I want to take the professor's place in his life.
Second, I want to become Draco's godfather.
Third, I want a Voldemort who doesn't have a snake's face.
Once his wishes were made, Billy finally forgot his previous life and opened his eyes.
All right, then.
An alcoholic father, a meek mother, beatings every day, and storms of violence after the occasional tender moment: he could accept all of it.
Still, he always had a feeling of familiarity.
That feeling stayed with him until his life became entangled with Snape's.
He wanted to get close to Snape, yet felt he could never reach him. Like an outsider peeking at a family by candlelight through wind, rain, and mud, he simply didn't belong.
They drifted farther and farther apart.
Then came love, hatred, cruelty, compassion, and one person left alone with regrets.
