Heslaine, the strongest Guide, can take down the Zerg with one hand. After taking down too many Zerg in his lifetime, he was rated by the Harmonious 1v1 System as the ideal candidate for its "Eliminate the Angsty Tropes in Zerg Romance Novels" mission. The reason was simple: the Zerg were terrified of him.
System: "This world has fused three angsty Zerg novels. Host, please help their couples reach sweet 1v1 endings as soon as possible. Good luck!"
But these Zerg weren't the same as those Zerg.
The ones Heslaine fought only knew how to crunch metal. They weren't... well... so obsessed with love.
The first Zerg novel follows the "One Night of Passion, Then Run Away With the Baby" plot. The main gong is a human rich second-generation crybaby who transmigrated into an aphid race male Zerg. He and Heslaine's current body are cousins.
The guy often clung to Heslaine's leg and sobbed, "Cousin! Save me, cousin! He's going to suck me dry, cousin! Why did my damn aphid bloodline have to make me secrete honeydew? It's ruined my life, cousin!"
Every time this happened, the taciturn prince of an ant tribe, a dark-skinned, well-endowed man, would come knock on the door. "Cousin, I brought the little ones to see you. I'm here to take him home, too."
Heslaine: "..."
Damn it, I'm part aphid, too.
The second angsty novel follows the "My Archenemy's Brother-in-Law, You Smell So Good" plot. The main gong transmigrates into the fiance of the newly crowned Zerg Emperor of the Latimore Empire. The original owner was a promiscuous male Zerg with a notorious reputation.
The Emperor's younger brother hates the scumbag male Zerg so much he could grind his teeth to dust, and shows up every day to cause trouble. Until one day, after Heslaine finishes treating his mental sea, he hears the younger brother on the phone.
"You didn't say that when we were in bed!"
"I didn't see you getting off me, either!"
"Tell me, are you still hung up on my brother?"
Heslaine: Keep it up, little brother-in-law. Your brother's doing just fine living at my place. No need to worry.
Lomia, the actual Zerg Emperor: ...
The third angsty novel follows the "After Transmigrating Into a Villainous Male Zerg, I Became a Hit in the Zerg World" plot. The main gong transmigrates into a villainous male Zerg married off to a young general of the Tianjia race. He's a future overpowered protagonist with a human mind and a leveling-up story in his hands.
The Tianjia race puts females first. The Tianjia young general despises the cruel male Zerg from other races who are lazy and bully females, but makes an exception for his steady, wise male Zerg online friend.
One day, the steady and wise overpowered protagonist messages Heslaine in a game: "I have a friend... His online friend seems to have mistaken another Zerg for him, and he recently found out that his online friend is the same person he's been arranged to marry. If he wanted to casually reveal his identity to his online friend, do you have any ideas?"
Heslaine: "..."
If I didn't have the script, I might not have understood that.
02.
Heslaine is a Guide who has never been paired with a Sentinel, because all the Sentinels are afraid of him.
Reason one: Other Guides have little rabbits for spirit animals, but his is a huge lion. He can beat other Sentinels to a pulp.
Reason two: Heslaine has a strikingly cold, almost divine face that looks utterly sick of the world. When he takes down the Zerg, covered in blood, the Sentinels can only kneel and call him Daddy.
But Heslaine thinks he's actually pretty nice: gentle, reasonable, and patient. He never hits people for no reason.
Until one day, he got bound to a damn System.
System, weakly: "It's the System for Eliminating Angsty Tropes in Zerg Romance Novels, not a damn System."
Heslaine: "Then why has my spirit animal turned into a cub?"
System, too afraid to speak.
To restore his spirit animal, Heslaine followed the damn System's instructions and bought an item of fortune: a little butterfly locked in a silver cage.
Then he started "chasing butterflies" every day to train his spirit animal.
03.
Lomia, the newly crowned Zerg Emperor of the Latimore Empire.
Three days ago, he was ambushed on his way to the temple and left gravely wounded, his body partially transformed into a Zerg. A black-market dealer sold him as an ordinary butterfly Zerg slave with unusual wings. A cold and handsome "female Zerg" bought him for ten star coins.
That night, the "female Zerg" buyer unwrapped the bandages on his lower abdomen right in front of him, revealing crimson-and-gold male Zerg markings and a strong pheromone scent. Then he conjured a little lion out of thin air and spent the whole night chasing butterflies...
That's right, Lomia was that butterfly.
After that, Lomia was forcibly bound to some kind of damn System.
Lomia: "Damn it, our Zerg world is this melodramatic?"
Heslaine: "Since you've been cheated on, just get yourself a new Emperor consort."
Heslaine, a mixed-blood aphid Guide top: A mysterious mental-power healer who is cold and ruthless, with a sickly debuff. In reality, he's gentle, devious, and a shameless flirt with Zerg.
Lomia, a butterfly Zerg Emperor bottom: A beautiful and tragic Zerg struggling to survive amid foreign enemies and internal strife, an innocent soul completely under the thumb of a certain schemer.
Reader's Guide:
1. [Important Notice] This story combines a male-dominant Zerg world with the female-dominant Tianjia. It's a light, sweet, feel-good story written just for fun. Please don't read if this bothers you.
2. The couple dote on each other. 1v1, both are each other's first, happy ending. Readers with strict preferences about tops and bottoms, proceed with caution.
3. The top is the strongest Guide and can beat Sentinels. He has a mental field, mental tentacles, a spirit animal (a lion), and pheromones, and can use his mental field to help female Zerg repair their mental seas.
4. The worldbuilding draws on several insect documentaries and combines them with various author-created details. Please don't read if this bothers you.
5. [Important Notice] This story has no real-life inspirations. Any resemblance is purely coincidental, since tropes in angsty redemption stories are often common.
6. [Important Notice] This story is set in a fictional world. Everything is made up and has nothing to do with reality.
