A Merchant's Son Climbs to Success [Infrastructure]

Ji Qian transmigrates into a merchant family in Jiangnan, and thinks he can simply live a peaceful life as a rich young master.

Who could have guessed that the imperial court would recruit talent on a grand scale, allowing students from merchant families to take the imperial examinations and enter officialdom?

His whole family looks to him expectantly. Their third son, clever from a young age, is the perfect one to study!

At twelve, Ji Qian is packed off to a Jiangnan academy, where he becomes an "overage" beginner and one of the first students from a merchant family.

To his surprise, in just a few years he becomes the youngest provincial graduate in the academy.

He studies, takes the examinations, and rises through the ranks.

Wherever he serves, the local people grow prosperous.

Economic development?

That's his forte!
