An early writing exercise, with many flaws. Read at your own risk.
Chapters 153 to 158 are extras mainly about the younger generation. Subscribe with caution.
This story has been revised many times. The official version and pirated copies differ greatly. I only stand by the official version. Thank you.
Blurb 1:
Xie Ling had only recently turned fifteen when she was promised as a second wife to a fifty-two-year-old gentleman.
To escape the marriage arrangement, she took the initiative to seek protection from her nominal elder brother, Xie Heng, the refined and aloof second legitimate son of the Xie family.
That very night, she had a dream.
In the dream, Xie Heng was cold and unfeeling, nothing like the gentleman he was rumored to be. She became a pawn in his hands.
Young and naive, with her heart stirred by love, she fell for Xie Heng and flew straight into the flames to serve him.
But he did not return her feelings, and it all came to nothing.
In the end, she was slandered as a wicked consort and burned alive in the marketplace.
That dream was like a fleeting illusion, but in this life, she would not leave her fate in someone else's hands.
Reborn, Xie Ling decided to play along while secretly staying true to herself and seeking a way to survive.
Blurb 2:
In Xie Heng's eyes, Xie Ling was meek, dull, foolish, and boring. Apart from her stunning beauty, she had nothing to recommend her.
A pawn who had come to him of her own accord and was so useful, so what if she was his cousin? A man who pursued profit had no reason to go soft or hold back.
Until one day, he saw his usually timid, delicate cousin smiling brightly at a dashing young man.
Xie Heng's heart tightened, and his face darkened.
Since she was his pawn, she was his property. How could he let anyone else covet her? If she wanted love, then, since she was so useful to him, he could deign to give her a little.
But when he set off fireworks all over the city to declare his feelings, the girl who had always been so obedient and well-behaved casually blew out the lantern he had made with his own hands.
She smiled sweetly, but her tone was inscrutable. "Cousin, why are you taking a bit of make-believe seriously?"
Xie Heng had always prided himself on having every move planned, but for the first time, he knew what it was like to lose control.
After being turned away from her chambers countless times, Xie Heng finally lost control and fell into ruin.
He stood in the hazy rain, his eyes dark.
If he couldn't be her lover, then she couldn't blame him for resorting to any means necessary.
Reading guide:
1. Both leads are virgins, one-to-one romance, happy ending, melodramatic story. The male lead will suffer a painful pursuit of his wife in the middle and later parts.
2. The female lead will become emperor.
3. The female lead's dream is misleading.
4. This is a fictional setting. Please don't nitpick the historical details.
5. Romantic intimacy and the relationship storyline begin only after they are no longer related.
Theme: Independence and self-reliance
The emperor always comes in a rage and leaves in a daze?
In fact, I think some things in the extra chapter are really unnecessary. The male and female protagonists have been suffering for three lives and fighting each other for so long. Just let them rest and live happily for a few years. Others like those in the heroine's harem are really unnecessary. Unlocking the extra chapter thought it was sweet, but I didn't expect it to be a bunch of verbose things. I really don't know what to say. I have no motivation to continue unlocking the subsequent extra episodes. It's quite disappointing.
Wow, it's finally tied. The author's writing is very good and very attentive. The only drawback is that there are too many things involved in this story, which makes it a little confusing. There is dream rebirth (and several people have quasi-rebirth plots, such as the heroine, her brother, and the hero feel that they also have the ability to predict past lives), as well as modern time travel, and superimposed systems. Maybe the author wants to construct a complicated story, and I look forward to a satisfactory explanation later. Each character image is full, they have functional functions and some personality extensions to enhance the literary quality. There are just too many characters, and sometimes it gets a little confusing when I look at it. It takes a lot of thought to sort out this character and story universe, so the author should have some literary or conceptual pursuits. Come on, come on.
Damn, what you are writing now is completely different from what you wrote at the beginning. The later part is so beautiful that it makes me uncomfortable to read it. You are so awesome.
Does the author have any plans to publish a book? Want to buy!!! 🌈🌈
If I hadn't jumped to watch the ending, how would I have known that the rest of it would be so exciting 🌈 Fortunately, I'm better at it
I was attracted by the copywriting today and jumped to read it. It feels very good. It's the first time I've seen some thoughtful articles on JJ. It's really, really good.
I still like to watch the interaction between the male and female protagonists 😳
I hope the heroine will eventually lose contact with her family. None are worthy. 💔
