After Breaking Up, I Got Together with My Ex-Boyfriend's Friend [Detective Conan]

I met him when I was five. I fell for his beautiful blond hair at first sight.

I fell in love with him at sixteen, after he saved me like a hero.

I left him at twenty-one, when he disappeared without a trace.

I saw him again at twenty-eight, but by then I had a new boyfriend.

To go undercover, Zero had no choice but to break up with his girlfriend of five years. When he saw her again, she was leaning against someone else's side.

Although he'd expected it, it still hurt to see.

But when he realized that the other person was his childhood friend, Hiro, who had faked his death and changed his appearance, his feelings became a complicated mix of joy and sorrow, impossible to put into words.

Hiro [trying to explain]: Don't look at me like that, Zero. I really didn't steal your girlfriend!

Asaba Kanon [eyes brimming with tears]: Baby, that's not what you said last night.

Zero [with a complicated look]: Hiro, you don't have to do this.

Other people get dumped out of the blue. She got dumped off a cliff.

The day before, Kanon was still cuddling up to her boyfriend, lying in the same bed and dreaming about their wonderful life together after they moved in. The next day, he was gone, his phone number was disconnected, and he'd moved out of his rental...

Standing at the door of the empty rental, unable to contact her boyfriend at all, Kanon clenched her fists, eyes blazing. "That scumbag used me and then ran! Damn him!"

Reader's guide:

1. She's fake-dating Hiro.

2. The heroine and Zero work in the same department but different sections, and neither knows the other's identity. She knows Hiro's identity while knowing Zero's.

3. My first attempt at a romance-heavy story. The heroine is clingy, extremely clingy, and she'll flirt with Zero when they meet again.

4. Their romance takes place during high school and after their reunion.

5. I plan to finish the whole story before posting, and may revise the blurb.

Theme: Strive for a beautiful future
