Yodel Alexander
A math teacher at Midtown High School and a talented Stanford University mathematics graduate, currently teaching with great enthusiasm.
His students are ordinary and happy, like ignorant lambs raised by God. But respecting the fate of others is a rule etched into Yodel's bones, so his teaching career is peaceful and uneventful.
Besides, New York isn't Academy City. There are no ability development programs, no levitation circuits, and no endless ability-related crimes. What could he possibly complain about?
Then one day, he saw the relatively clever one among the lambs mutate into a spider.
Yodel :)
No big deal. One individual mutating doesn't mean the whole group will.
Then a strange terrorist attack suddenly took place at this ordinary high school.
Yodel: ...
Well, this is New York, after all. The occasional surprise is still within his capacity to handle.
What finally broke him was a new neighbor who had just moved in.
This ordinary man, injected with super-soldier serum, had slept for seventy years in one go, then woken up in the prime of health, still full of energy. Every day, Yodel watched him get up at five in the morning to exercise, and every day he was quietly losing his mind.
This is completely unscientific.
No... No, it's not even remotely magical!
Faced with such a perfect test subject, Yodel could do nothing but stare at him each day, keep a straight face, and exchange good mornings and good nights. It was almost impossible to bear.
Enough.
Grinding his teeth, Yodel finally managed to squeeze out a stiff sentence after saying good afternoon one day.
"After school today... may I come over to your place, Mr. Rogers?"
Steve, who thought his neighbor disliked him and had been fretting over how to improve their relationship: ?
"Oh, of course."
The symbol of America smiled brightly. "I think we'll have a pleasant time relaxing together."
* A crossover between Marvel and A Certain Magical Index. I'll be creating some unusual pairings (including pairings with original characters).
* The protagonist is fundamentally a magician. His father was the greatest magician of the twentieth century (but also a real piece of work).
* He's a somewhat maladjusted, beautiful teacher (beautiful people with maladjusted personalities are my thing), and has absolutely no understanding of the unspoken rules of society.
* Surprisingly earnest, and ends up being doted on by a lot of people without realizing it.
* Pairing: Steve Rogers.
The start date is a long way off. I probably won't work on this until I've finished the original A Certain Magical Index series. So far I've finished all three anime seasons and just started the novels. I've only read A Certain Scientific Railgun for the spinoffs (quietly crawls away, you typewriter-horse, Kamachi).
If you bookmark this, you can consider this advance notice dead for now (?).
And anyway, anything could happen before I start writing.
