She first met Cheng Yi in a rainy alley.
In the damp mist, Chi Yao saw a boy lying motionless on the filthy, rain-soaked ground, eyes closed. Raindrops fell on his striking features, washing the blood from his face.
Out of kindness, she rescued him. Who knew he wouldn't appreciate it?
“Stay away from me.” His eyes were utterly cold.

At first, Cheng Yi paid Chi Yao no mind. Later, he saw her carrying a huge bouquet of roses and handing them out to passersby one by one.
The dim yellow streetlight fell on Chi Yao, making her look warm and lovely. His gaze followed her movements without him realizing it.
When all that remained was one wilted rose, she felt awkward about giving it to anyone else, so she put it in Cheng Yi's hand. “It's yours.”
Cheng Yi raised an eyebrow and tightened his long fingers around the rose. “I don't want this.”
“Then what do you want?” Chi Yao asked.
He didn't answer. He simply stared at Chi Yao, his gaze burning as if it held stars.

They lost touch after the college entrance exams. Years later, Cheng Yi was the head of a conglomerate worth tens of billions, while An Yao was still utterly ordinary.
One day, a drunk Cheng Yi confessed that he had liked a girl for a long time, but she seemed to already belong to someone else.
“Do you think I could steal her away?” Cheng Yi asked, bleary-eyed.
Chi Yao's eyes stung. She had to choose between telling him not to be the other man and helping him figure out how to pursue the girl, but instead she chose a third path.
After one reckless night, Chi Yao woke up in Cheng Yi's bed and fled. He pursued her relentlessly, holding her firmly in his arms. “You gave me an opening. I won't let go of you for the rest of my life.”
Advance notice: Coveting You After Marriage
Qin Zhao is a well-known business magnate in the capital, refined and aloof, indifferent to others, and never involved in gossip. He is a workaholic with assets worth hundreds of billions, and every second of his time counts.
Even his wedding registration has to be squeezed into his schedule.
At first, Shu Qing didn't want to marry him. Her family was on the verge of bankruptcy, so she had no choice but to enter into a marriage alliance with him.
Before they registered their marriage, she warned Qin Zhao: “I'm used to doing things my own way, and I don't care about saving face. If I cause a scandal after we get married and damage your reputation, don't blame me.”
“You can try,” Qin Zhao said coldly.
“Fine, I will!”
After they married, they each went about their own lives. Shu Qing thought they'd keep things that way, but she didn't expect Qin Zhao's gaze to grow more and more peculiar.
He was either sending her gifts every few days or giving her shares and castles with extravagant generosity.
Shu Qing accepted all of it, occasionally rewarding him with a smile.
When their families urged them to have a child, Shu Qing impatiently brushed them off. “He can't perform in bed!”
That night, Qin Zhao came home, slowly loosened his tie, and walked toward her, backing her up against the bed.
“I heard you've been telling everyone I can't perform?”
“…”
Shu Qing was sweating buckets, at a loss for how to defend herself.
Qin Zhao's gaze was dark as he held her chin with long fingers. “How do you know whether I can perform if you haven't experienced it for yourself...?”
