Pei Yanzhe’s father, who is nearly seventy, has taken a new beta wife. Red lips and white teeth, soft as jade and delicate as a flower: though he is a man, he is breathtakingly beautiful.
Everyone thinks his father has gone senile, getting on in years and still wanting to have fun.
Pei Yanzhe knows full well that this is just a plaything his father married to bring him good luck and prolong his life.
Pei Yanzhe doesn’t care. A beta can’t give birth to anything, nor cause any trouble. In fact, in the two months since his stepmother moved in, he hasn’t even gone to see him.
Then one day, his younger sister, whom their father has always doted on, returns from studying abroad. She means to put her new stepmother in his place, but their father finds out and gives her two hard strokes. She runs off crying to Pei Yanzhe to complain. Only then does he pay attention to the beta stepmother he has ignored all this time.
That night, he slips into his stepmother’s residence by moonlight.
Pei Yanzhe only means to scare him a little so he can report back to his sister. But instead, he catches his stepmother with his pale nape exposed, his body slick with sweat as he pants in agony. A seductive, soul-stealing scent lingers around him as he faces away, doing something too indecent to look at.
Any alpha would know what was happening.
His beta stepmother was in heat.
Pei Yanzhe has never been a good person. He walks right in, openly, and lets a little of his alpha pheromones out to lure him.
When his stepmother is weakened and trembling from the provocation, he lifts his chin and says with a smile, "You know what my father will do if he finds out you’re an omega, right?"
His stepmother’s eyes redden as he struggles. He raises a hand and slaps Pei Yanzhe across the face.
He grits his teeth. "You bastard. I’m your stepmother..."
Pei Yanzhe only smiles, coaxing him softly. "Stepmother, he’s old. He’ll be dead soon."
"He can’t satisfy you."
"But I can."
