An Unconventional Night

Eight-year age gap, an old flame rekindled / a regretful pursuit of his wife / a live-in upbringing

Blurb:

Jiang Zhi often stayed at the He family home, and she and the young master of the family, He Yu, grew up together as childhood friends.

They were close in age and had grown up together, so their elders often teased them as a pair, assuming that if the two families ever became related by marriage, it would surely be these two children.

He Yu thought so too.

On a sweltering, noisy summer night, he finally confessed his feelings to her.

But as she faced this dazzling young man, radiant as the sun, the figure that came to Jiang Zhi's mind was He Chennian, He Yu's uncle, who was in the room behind her.

But he was eight years older than her. Her desire for him seemed so absurd.

-

That night, she heard He Chennian lean down close to her ear and warn her, "A Zhi, your eyes give you away. You need to hide it better."

She never thought he would notice. Her heart raced uncontrollably.

Then she suddenly woke with a start, cold sweat beading on her forehead.

The nightmare haunted her all night.
