When Necessary, Those Two Go First

[Two Academic Slackers / Sweet Romance / Campus Life / College Entrance Exam]

Nancheng No. 123 High School, nicknamed Do-Re-Mi, is widely known in the capital as the worst ordinary high school around: a hotbed for academic slackers, a cradle for underachievers, and a training ground for future vocational college students.

With the new college entrance exam system in place, Class 12 of the Class of 2052 faced the deadly combination of History, Politics, and Chemistry. Of the 50 students, 48 made a miraculous comeback and got into undergraduate programs.

"There are still two left."

Those two were so terrible at their regular subjects that it hurt to look. They were always near the bottom of the rankings and spent every other day busy with puppy love. On the day of the college entrance exam, they were still eating grilled cold noodles with sweet, sour, and spicy sauce and extra cilantro in the back street, even halfway through the English listening test.

[They may look like academic slackers and campus bullies, but when it matters, they're the first to step up.]

Dance beauty: Shut up and stop kissing me. Are you a kissing maniac? (Xiang Yu) x Esports demon king: Thanks, honey, for feeding me so well (Suo Chen)

[Mini Scene]

"Brother Yu! Pick one: truth or dare?"

Xiang Yu furrowed his brow and thought for a moment. "Dare."

The prompt screen flashed by. "Stop!"

--

"Choose someone here, use their face to fill in a nine-square grid... and kiss their phone number!"

The music stopped. Everyone turned to look at Suo Chen in unison.

Who says academic slackers can't have a bright future?

A not-so-gentle reminder:

1. If you don't dance or play esports, you can still enjoy this story while sitting on the toilet. It won't affect a thing.

2. It's been a long time since I was a student. This is just writing practice, so extreme fans, please stay away. It's mainly sweet. If it's not your thing, hit the X and we'll meet again someday.
